I just came back to Cebu after a week-long sojourn in Siargao Island where I volunteered to help a very good friend who ran for mayor in one of its municipalities. Much as I find insufferable the kind of politics that we have in this country, I had no second thoughts helping out a friend who still nurtures that uncommon idealism which I share, and that infectious optimism – which I do not share, but nevertheless admire. I intendto write a separate article on this experience. Not today. Today however is a special day for my wife and me. This is our second year wedding anniversary. We intend to make this day as simple as it is special. No party. In fact we planned to stay at a local resort tomorrow. As a way of commemorating our special day, I wish to share a wedding song I composed in collaboration with Mr. Raymund Abao, Musical Director of University of Cebu Chorus. We were able to persuade our good friend Rommel Tuico, lead vocalist of top local band, “Stagecrew” to record and sing the song on our wedding day. Friends should forgive me for being a bit melodramatic in writing the song; after all, the words truly came out from the heart… The title of the song is “You Are My Life”. Here it is:
You Are My Life
Thanks. Yeah, it was just recorded at a school recording studio and the audio copy in this blog i think is not that good too. Do you think its that good to send it to a recording company? i don’t think so.
It was good enough for our wedding though - making it somehow extra special.
belated anniversary to my good old barkada friend from college.
